  • I don’t want to leave out Yul Brynner’s Performance; he pulled off the role that was given him like no one else could. The role was poorly written, but Brynner pulled it off nevertheless. So kudos to the casting director John Merrick on this movie at least because the other characters were appropriate to say the least.

  • Excellent movie. I was pleasingly surprised. I have been a fan of all of the old “hero” actors
like most guys that grew up in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Kirk Douglas among em of course; this movie representing his best work. I know “Paths”, and “Lonely” were excellent, but this was no bumbling hero the likes of “Leagues” Jules Verne wise. At any rate Spartacus was another fine example of Douglas’s on screen magnetism, and the likes. I always thought as well liked as douglas was that he was still under rated; this movie backs up this claim. It is aa very good movie with an enjoyable flow; I was like I said, “surprised”.
